A few photos from the last half of 2010 for reference. This in the middle of my eat-everything-in-sight-and-call-it-a-bulk diet plan. Thickness! I was doing Jim Wendler’s 5/3/1 plan during most of that time, making gains, and getting chunky:

I’m pear-shaped, so my lower body is disproportionally thicker. That’s fine. Unfortunately the end of 2011 was a bit of a wash as far as strength gains go - I did way too much supplemental cardio in the name of burning off fat and increasing my endurance and then lost several pounds over the winter holidays with the Flu from Absolute Hell but we’re back on track in 2012.
I do Crossfit religiously now mixed with dedicated, periodized strength work, and I’ve just started cycling my carbs to see if I can lean out a little more.
