Took a couple of days off from the squatting with just some bodyweight lunges and Bulgarian split squats as per the Smolov programming. Elbow is feeling great - back at 100% for the first time in a while - so now comes the hard part: keeping it that way.
I think I’ll essentially stay off it for the rest of the week. Starting Saturday, hopefully, I will try to work back in some pull-ups, push-ups, dips, and cleans. If all goes well after maybe a couple weeks of those movements, somewhere around the beginning of July I might try to work back in a few overhead squats or handstand push-ups. Therein will lie the real test!
Slow and steady.
Yesterday’s food -
- breakfast: eggs with jalapeños, bacon, coffee
- lunch: a hotdog, two burgers with cheese, pickles, mustard (no buns), some grilled zucchini and mushrooms, a couple of white corn chips with bean dip
- dinner: a Caesar salad, filet of salmon with a ginger-honey glaze, braised collard greens
- dessert: maybe a half cup of gelato
